American Cardinal Readers
These series of readers, originally published in the later 1920s, are classics. Poems and stories taken from history, the bible, fairy tales, classical literature and stories of family and daily life (life that was, frankly, more normal and focused on duty to God, family and country), give children clear concepts of who they are and how to think. The readers were written for children who were expected to excel and understand a broad range of subjects. Readings are packed with meaning, morals, love of truth and beauty as well as practical knowledge. Politically correct speech, and gender confusion not spoken here.
Available individually or as a set.of 9 books.
