Problems with the New Mass, The
This very important little book is now out of print (TAN Books and Publishers has changed hands). We have only one copy remaining.
Shortly after the New Mass was officially introduced on April 3, 1969, Cardinals Ottaviani and Bacci wrote a letter to Pope Paul VI in September, 1969, stating that the "New Mass" represented, "both as a whole and in its details, a striking departure from the Catholic theology of the Mass as it was formulated in Session XXII of the Council of Trent." Along with the letter, they presented him with the Short Critical Study of the Novus Ordo Missae, prepared by Roman theologians. (That Study is brief, to the point, and can be read online). Nothing came of this intervention.
Now, almost 47 years later, Catholic statistics have affirmed the Cardinals' worst fears ... massive loss of faith among the laity, rank heresy ... witchcraft, in fact ... in religious orders, and a powerful core of pervert priests and prelates who rule the roost over good and holy men and who stifle their ability to be the priests God has called them to be in the vast majority of dioceses.
