St. Maria Goretti: In Garments All Red
Sin or death! That was the momentous decision Maria Goretti faced in July of 1902 ... when she was not yet 12 years old. "No, no! It is a sin!" was Maria's response to her attacker, Alessandro, who then stabbed Maria 14 times. Thus, little Maria became a viargin martyr in the line of St. Agnes and St. Cecilia.
Here is the beautiful and true story of Maria's virtuous life and death, her forgiveness of her murderer, her lingering death and, finally, her canonization to sainthood in 1950, with her mother and family present and the largest crowd ever before seen at a canonization.
Maria is a sorely needed saint for our times.
