St. Therese of Lisieux (1873-1897), born Theresa Martin, known also as the Little Flower, is a French Carmelite saint who lived an obscure life, entered the cloistered Carmel at age 15, and died their at age 24. That would have been the end of it, except that she was ordered to write her memoirs ... The Story of A Soul. After her death, her memoirs were published and touched so many hearts that today it is a classic. In the book, Theresa spoke of her "little" way of perfection ... by doing everything (even the most menial and insignificant tasks) out of love for God. This brought Theresa yet another honor ... she was declared a Doctor of the Church. And, though she never set foot in mission territory, Theresa was declared Patron of Missions. Read her biography and find out why.
